NSWIS runner Madeline Hills (nee Heiner) continued her Olympic push after clocking another Rio qualifying time at the IAAF Melbourne World Challenge over the weekend.

Hills stopped the clock in 9:34.44 to finish first in the women’s 3000m steeplechase, outlasting Genevieve LaCaze and Victoria Mitchell en route to gold.

“I’m training far better than I ever have so I am happy to keep working and lay low before racing later in the year. In the right race I am in shape to run fast,” Hills said to Athletics Australia following the win.

In other results at the Melbourne World Challenge, NSWIS athlete Michelle Jenneke claimed gold in the women’s 100m hurdles.
