NSWIS hockey players, Tamworth’s Isaac Farmilo and Parkes’ Kurt Lovett, have helped the Australian under 18 boy’s hockey team qualify for the Youth Olympic Games in August.

Following victory over Vanuatu and a draw against New Zealand on Sunday the Australian team required at least a draw against underdogs Fiji on Monday afternoon to ensure qualification.

Farmilo continued his scoring spree landing his eighth and ninth goals of the tournament, whilst 17-year-old Lovett snared his second hat trick for the event in the 21-0 victory.

In Tuesday’s final, Australia went down to New Zealand 5-3. Farmilo was again the standout scoring two goals.
