Two NSWIS hockey players have been selected for the Australian men’s hockey team to contest next month’s World Cup in the Netherlands.

London Olympians Kieran Govers and Simon Orchard were both named in the 18-man squad for the tournament, with Australia entering as the defending champions following their victory in India four years ago.

Govers and Orchard were both in the team that triumphed in 2010 ahead of the Commonwealth Games in Delhi, as Australia aims to become only the third nation after Pakistan and Germany to win back to back World Cups.

The tournament takes place in the Hague, Netherlands from 31 May – 15 June.
