Nine NSWIS hockey athletes are set to compete at the Olympic Games following the announcement of Australia’s hockey teams.

In the men’s team, Matthew Butturini, Kieran Govers and Simon Orchard will all line up for the Kookaburras in London, with each making their Olympic debut.

All three were part of the team that finished second at the Olympic test event earlier this year, and will be looking to help guide Australia to its first Olympic gold since Athens in 2004.

The women’s team, the Hockeyroos, sees six NSWIS athletes feature in the lineup. Making their Olympic debut will be Jade Close, Kate Jenner and Emily Smith, while stalwarts Casey Eastham, Toni Cronk and Megan Rivers each line up for their second Olympic Games.
