The Australian women’s hockey team has finished sixth at the World League Final in Argentina.

Featuring NSWIS athletes Georgina Morgan, Mariah Williams and Emily Smith, the Hockeyroos suffered a 1-0 loss at the hands of the world’s top ranked women’s team the Netherlands.

Despite creating a number of chances throughout the match the Hockeyroos were unable to capitalise, eventually conceding a goal in the 42nd minute that they were not able to match.

The team will now return to Australia before the Olympic training squad is named later this month for preparation ahead of the Rio campaign in 2016.
