Moguls skiers Matt Graham and Charlotte Wilson have enjoyed a unique view of the world from the medal winners’ podium, but today the pair shared a rare ‘first’ – walking the red carpet for a big screen premiere as the guests of honour.

Graham, an Olympic silver medallist and Wilson, who needed only 10 races to win her first world cup gold medal at the same course where the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics will be held in February, were on hand to launch the second series of NSWIS Lights Up.

This 10 episode docuseries follows on from last year’s acclaimed series which featured a number of athletes who went on to compete – successfully so – at the Paris Games including the gold medal winning Fox sisters, Jessica and Noemie, bronze medallist Eleanor Patterson, Paralympic champion Tim Hodge, as well as this year’s water polo silver medallists Tilly Kearns and Bronte Halligan.

The 2026 edition stars Graham, Wilson, Olympic gold medallist Jakara Anthony OAM, Paralympic bronze medallist Ben Tudhope, Olympic bronze medallist Tess Coady, snowboarding superstar Valentino Guseli, Youth Winter Olympic bronze medallist Abbey Wilson, world championship silver medallist Josie Baff, world cup silver medallist Adam Lambert and world cup medallist Josh Hanlon who competes in Para-alpine skiing.

And while Hollywood may have come to NSWIS’s Sydney Olympic Park HQ, Wilson and Graham don’t have special effects or stuntmen and women when they scream down a mountain at full throttle with the wind blasting past their ears and their bodies absorbing the teeth rattling impact of their sport.

The thrills and spills are their reality, not the concoctions of a script writer, and neither athlete would have it any other way. Although, 31-year-old Graham admitted it was ‘emotional’ to watch his story on the silver screen.

“It was pretty cool and emotional,” said Graham, as his infant daughter Ada threatened to overshadow him during an impromptu appearance with him on the stage.

“I guess it gives everyone a perspective of inside my brain . . . when you live through something you take it for granted what you’ve achieved and gone through.”

Wilson, whose sister Abbey is in Europe preparing for the snowboard season, said it was special for her and the other athletes to have an opportunity to share their stories.

“I really enjoyed it,” she said of her time in the hot seat. “A lot of people probably don’t know what winter sport does as much in Australia so it’s nice to showcase not just what we do on the hill but away from it as well.”
