The Australian men’s under-19 basketball have kept their medal hopes alive at the 2013 FIBA U19 World Championships in the Czech Republic.

Led by NSWIS Basketball Program Head Coach Damian Cotter, the team finished the group stages with two wins and one loss, defeating Senegal before losing to Serbia, and then defeating Brazil.

The team, featuring NSWIS athletes Michael Rowley and Fabian Krslovic, now move into a second group stage of six teams where they will play China, the USA and Russia.

If the Australians finish in the top four of the six team group they progress to the quarter finals.
