Nate Johnstone has continued his golden run of results by winning his first world cup gold medal in the half-pipe in China.

Johnstone, who recently won gold in the men’s snowboard half-pipe at the 2011 FIS Snowboard World Championships, scored 27.6 points to easily take gold ahead of two competitors from China.

Meanwhile, fellow NSWIS athlete Jenny Owens achieved her first podium finish in two years by taking bronze in the women’s ski cross at a world cup event in Canada.

Owens outlasted the newly crowned world champion and current world cup points leader to stand on the podium, consolidating her place in the top 10 world rankings.

NSWIS athletes Sami Kennedy, Katya Crema and Scott Kneller were also competing, finishing eighth, 13th and 24th in the respective events.
