Eight NSWIS athletes have been selected on the Australian team competing at the 2016 IAAF World U20 Championships in Poland.

Youth Olympic Games champion Jessica Thornton headlines the NSWIS contingent in the 55-strong team as she takes part in the women’s 400m and 4x400m relay.

Thornton is joined in the team by fellow NSWIS athletes Sam Geddes (100m, 4x100m), Amy Harding-Delooze (1500m), Beth Croft and Georgia Winkcup (both 3000m steeplechase), Alysha Burnett (high jump), Alex Hulley (hammer throw) and Angus Armstrong (pole vault).

The championships take place in Bydgoszcz, Poland from 19-24 July.
