The Australian men’s hockey team has advanced to the quarter finals of the 2012 Champions Trophy following a tough 1-0 victory over Pakistan.

Victory came after NSWIS athlete Kieran Govers slotted a penalty corner in the 52nd minute, with the team holding on despite pressure from their opponents. Fellow NSWIS athletes Simon Orchard, Joshua White and Tristan Miller were also part of the win.

The Kookaburras now play England in the quarter final on Thursday, before the classification and final matches this weekend.
