The Australian men’s hockey team has continued their excellent form ahead of the Olympic Games with a resounding win at the Azlan Shah Cup in Malaysia.

Featuring NSWIS athletes Tom Craig, Blake Govers, Matthew Dawson, Flynn Ogilvie, Tristan White and Simon Orchard, the Australians defeated India 4-0 in the final to notch a flawless campaign.


NSWIS athlete Craig scored Australia’s first two goals in the 25th and 35th minute before Queenslander Matthew Gohdes scored in the 43rd and 57th to secure the win.


The next major tournament for the Kookaburras is the Champions Trophy in London during June.


Elsewhere, the NSW men’s squad featuring 11 NSWIS athletes finished with silver at the Australian U21 Championships, while the NSW women’s team, featuring eight NSWIS athletes, won bronze.
