The 2014 ICF Canoe Slalom World Cup came to a close over the weekend, with NSWIS athlete Rosalyn Lawrence featuring on the medal dais.

Competing in the women’s C1, Lawrence secured silver by posting a time of 120.75 seconds in the final, just over six seconds behind the British gold medallists after recording four seconds worth of penalties.

Lawrence’s silver was complemented by a ninth place finish in the women’s K1 team event with fellow NSWIS athlete Ali Borrows.

The final World Cup standings see Lawrence and Jessica Fox finish second and fourth respectively in the women’s C1, while Fox also finished ninth in the women’s K1.

The men’s events saw NSWIS athletes Lucien Delfour and Will Forsythe finish fifth in the K1 team event, while Ian Borrows added a fifth place in the men’s C1 team.

The attention now turns to the 2014 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships which take place in Maryland, USA from 16-21 September.
