NSWIS cyclist Kaarle McCulloch will team up with world champion sprint partner Anna Meares for the first time this year at the upcoming Manchester leg of the 2010/11 UCI Track Cycling World Cup.

McCulloch and Meares are two time defending world champions in the women’s sprint, and the Manchester world cup event will provide an excellent hit out ahead of the 2011 UCI Track Cycling World Championships in the Netherlands in late March.

Elsewhere, hockey player Kieran Govers will be the lone NSWIS athlete competing at the 2011 FIH Indoor Hockey World Cup in Poland starting tomorrow.

Australia finished eighth at the 2007 edition and seventh in 2003, but will be looking for a vast improvement this year as they introduce a number of younger, fringe Kookaburras players.
