The 2012 Australian Track Cycling Championships concluded over the weekend, with a number of NSWIS athletes turning in excellent performances.

Three time world champion Kaarle McCulloch kicked off her year in strong fashion with gold in the women’s 500m time trial and silver in the women’s sprint. McCulloch finished second to Anna Meares in the women’s sprint, however the one-two result has the reigning world champion duo in a strong position to contend at the upcoming world championships in Melbourne.

Rising stars and brothers Jackson and Scott Law each won silver at the championships, Jackson taking silver in the men’s 40km points race, while Scott finished with silver in the men’s 1000m time trial.

Ashlee Ankudinoff, who spent some time away from cycling in 2011 due to injury, bounced back strongly to take silver in the women’s 3000m individual pursuit, while the NSWIS duo of Andrew Taylor and Mitchell Bullen finished with silver and bronze, respectively in the men’s keirin.
