Kaarle McCulloch and her race partner Anna Meares have claimed another crucial victory in the velodrome ahead of the 2012 London Olympic Games after gold in the women’s team sprint at the Manchester leg of the 2010/11 UCI Track Cycling World Cup.

The pair clocked an impressive time of 33.017 seconds in the event to comfortably outlast China in second, France in third and Great Britain in fourth.

While there is still plenty of cycling left until the London Games, McCulloch and Meares have dominated the event for a number of years, having won back to back world championships in 2009 and 2010. The pair will take aim at a three-peat later next month at the 2011 UCI Track Cycling World Championships.
