In another sign of her scintillating form, NSWIS cyclist Kaarle McCulloch won her second gold medal of the 2011 Australian Track Cycling Championships by taking honours in the women’s 500m time trial.

McCulloch outlasted South Australian Stephanie Morton and West Australian Holly Williams in a time of 34.465 seconds to couple her gold in the women’s team sprint.

Fellow NSWIS athlete Timothy McMillan also found himself on the podium, finishing with a bronze medal in the men’s under-19 1000m time trial.

Meanwhile, NSWIS road cyclist Rochelle Gilmore has dropped to eighth place overall after the second stage of the 2011 Ladies’ Tour of Qatar.

Gilmore finished in a group of riders just over two minutes behind the main pack to be two minutes and four seconds behind Ellen Van Dijk of the Netherlands in the general classification.
