Triathlete Charlotte McShane claimed the biggest win of her career late last week with a world-beating performance at the 2013 ITU Under-23 World Triathlon Championships in London.

McShane was in the thick of the action throughout the race, always challenging for the lead, and with just 100m to go she stormed ahead of the pack in the final sprint to claim gold and top spot on the medal dais.

The Scottish-born 23 year old was ecstatic with the win, with the gold medal being complemented by fellow NSWIS athletes Tamsyn Moana-Veale and Natalie Van Coevorden finishing eighth and 14th respectively.
