Load monitoring in athletes was the agenda for the annual NSWIS Medical Conference, held in the Ian Thorpe Theatrette on Saturday 18th November.

In attendance were industry professionals from the sports medicine field including doctors, physiotherapists and massage therapists from the network of providers in New South Wales.

Injury prevention and performance optimisation were key topics presented by speakers from the NSW Institute of Sport staff and network of providers, including David Young, Emma Millett and Steve Adams.

NSWIS Medical Director Dr Corey Cunningham welcomed guests to the NSW Institute of Sport and was thrilled with how the conference turned out.

“It’s great to bring together those in our field to learn and share knowledge” said Dr Cunningham.

“Our understanding of sports medicine is continually growing which is why it’s so important have events such as this”.

Preferred medical imaging supplier for NSWIS, Castlereagh Imaging, were on hand to offer information packs and advise on their services.

The NSWIS Medical Conference concluded with an opportunity for attendees to network and mingle.
