Mizuno Supports Roller Coaster In Sport

Mr Kevin Thompson, CEO of NSW Institute of Sport (NSWIS) and Olympian Bronte Campbell welcomed Mr Akito Mizuno, President of Mizuno, to the NSWIS facilities today. 

“We are very proud of the longstanding relationship we have had with the Mizuno brand and it was a privilege to show the President of Mizuno and his executives the NSWIS facilities today,” NSWIS CEO Professor Kevin Thompson said. 

“It is incredible when you see these long-term partnerships in sport,” Olympic gold medallist Bronte Campbell said.  

“Because in sport so often you get success and then there is the roller coaster which is the other side of success and so to have a partner that sticks through all those ups and downs is really special thing.” 

NSWIS and Mizuno have enjoyed a long standing and successful partnership dating back to 2008, with Mizuno becoming NSWIS’ official uniform supplier in 2013 and continuing through until 2021. Mizuno is now the official footwear partner of the high performance organisation. 

“Mizuno is a brand trusted by the NSWIS athletes and network, and as we look to Paris 2024 and beyond, we remain focused on providing athletes with industry-leading support and technology that allows them to train and perform at their very best,” Kevin said.

Mr Mizuno and his corporate guests enjoyed a tour of the NSWIS high performance gym and were provided insight into the daily operations of the high performance organisation by Director of Talent Andrew Logan, Director of High Performance Barrie-Jon Mather and Manager of Sport Science Alex Natera.  

There are strong synergies between the NSWIS and Mizuno purpose, vision and values, and continuing the partnership ensures NSWIS athletes are wearing the best footwear to compete on the world stage. 

“A big credit to NSWIS and Mizuno who have managed to do that for such a long time and it’s really that long lasting partnership that provides so much to sport and to the athletes who are part of NSWIS,” Bronte said.
