A further nine NSWIS athletes have been selected on the Australian team competing at the 2011 Commonwealth Youth Games in the Isle of Man. The nine track & field athletes join three NSWIS swimmers selected last week.

The men’s events will see Josh Clarke and Julian Roussety contest the men’s 100m, Jack Edwards take on the men’s 110m hurdles and Jack Bengal compete in the men’s 400m hurdles.

Abbie Taddeo has been selected for the women’s 100m hurdles, Kate Spencer will take on the women’s 2000m steeplechase, Natalie Apikatoa is one of two Australian athletes selected for the women’s triple jump, and Taylah Sengul and Amy Beittol take on the women’s discus and 5000m walk, respectively.

The 2011 Commonwealth Youth Games take place in the Isle of Man from September 7-13 2011.
