NSWIS cyclist Rachel Neylan created history over the weekend following a stellar performance at the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race.

Neylan became the first female winner of the race after making a move with nine kilometres left of the 113km race, attacking her competitors on the course’s steepest climb before stretching her lead to take honours by 46 seconds.

The win follows a runner-up finish in the women’s road race at the recent road national championships, and puts Neylan in a strong position to pick up a professional contract in Europe.
