NSWIS have won the second edition of the Australia SportsTech Cup, hosted at La Trobe University City Campus in Melbourne.

Ric Porteous, George Wehbe and Ryan Simmons competed on behalf of the NSW Institute of Sport in the 2-day hackathon where the theme was ‘sports business’ with a focus on stadium, fan experience and membership data.

The NSWIS data science team claimed the win in the hackathon which was designed to celebrate innovation in sports analytics and sports data. The event allowed participants to work with key data sets in order to provide real world insights on the way to answering a specific challenge question.

The fun and innovative competition for top professionals, academics, and university students aimed to fuel collaboration and showcase creativity and passion for innovation in sports analytics & data.
