NSWIS athletes Sami Kennedy-Sim and Alex ‘Chumpy’ Pullin were in imperious form at the Australian New Zealand Cup events in Mount Hotham this week, winning both races in the women’s ski cross and men’s boarder cross respectively.

Kennedy-Sim followed up her two victories in the first round of races in Mount Buller in July with two more gold medals to complete a clean sweep of the series.

The Australian Olympian was happy to see changes made this season having a positive impact as the lead up to the Pyeongchang games begins in earnest.

“I was using the Hotham ANC race to try and apply the technical changes I have made in training, into the race environment,” Kennedy-Sim said.

“Some things worked and others did not – the best training for racing is racing!”

In the men’s boarder cross event Pullin led an NSWIS clean sweep of the podium in both races, with teammates Adam Lambert and Matt Thomas rounding out the podium on both occasions.

These two gold medals are added to Pullin’s gold and bronze from the first round of races in Mount Buller, and complete a very satisfactory end to the Australian season.
