NSWIS hockey triumphs

NSWIS hockey players have enjoyed a successful weekend, recording victories in competitions in India and closer to home.

In the Hockey India League the Kalinga Lancers were crowned champions, with NSWIS athletes Matthew Dawson and Tom Craig forming an important part of the team. Dunbang Mumbai came in second place, helped by their own NSWIS player in Kieran Groves.

Back in Australia it was also a successful weekend for the NSWIS contingent at Ryde Hockey Club who recorded victory in the Easts Hockey Pre-Season Tournament – the Tiger Turf Cup. Ryde won the final 4-1, helped on their way by NSWIS athletes Lachlan Sharp, Tim Brand, Sam Liles, Tom Brown and Sam Gray.
