NSWIS paddlers dominate in Penrith

A host of medals were handed to NSWIS paddlers at the conclusion of the second leg of the 2010/11 Canoe Sprint Grand Prix series in Penrith over the weekend.

Murray Stewart was one of the standout performers over the course of the grand prix, winning gold medals in the men’s K1 1000m, K4 1000m, K1 500m and K2 500m, as well as silver in the men’s K1 200m.

The women’s competition saw Naomi Flood win gold in the women’s K1 1000m and K4 500m, while Maddison Prior was strong in winning the women’s under-23 K1 1000m and under-23 K1 500m.

Other gold medallists from the event included Sebastian Marczak, Monique O’Neill, Kirsty Higgison and Allison Bryant.
