Five NSWIS hockey players have been selected in the Australian men’s squad for the upcoming Champions Trophy in India.

Youngsters Tom Craig, Matthew Dawson and Flynn Ogilvie have all earned call-ups for the first major tournament of their careers after successful showings in the recent test series against India.

The trio will be joined by seasoned veteran Simon Orchard, who has over 150 caps for the Kookaburras, and Tristan White, who was part of the team’s recent triumph at the Commonwealth Games.

The Kookaburras will head to India as defending champions after winning the tournament on home soil in Melbourne in 2012, and will face England, Belgium and Pakistan in the group stage.

The 2014 Champions Trophy takes place in Bhubaneswar, India from December 6-14.
