Eleven NSWIS athletes have secured selection on the Australian rowing team contesting the 2015 Rowing World Cup events and world championships.

The selections are highlighted by reigning world champion Erik Horrie, who will compete in the men’s arms and shoulders single scull, with Kathleen Murdoch and Jeremy McGrath also earning selection in the mixed leg, trunk and arms coxed four.

World championship silver medallists Sarah Pound and Laura Dunn will contest the lightweight women’s quad scull along with Georgia Miansarow, while Jessie Allen competes in the women’s eight and Genevieve Horton will take on the women’s pair.

The men’s selections include James Chapman and Nick Purnell in the men’s eight, and Cameron Girdlestone in the men’s quad scull.

Coaches Tim McLaren, Ellen Randell and Jason Baker have also been selected to travel with the team.

The team will first compete at the second World Cup event in Varese, Italy from 18-21 June, before going on to compete at the third World Cup in Lucerne, Switzerland from 10-12 July. Reselections will then take place before the 2015 Rowing World Championships kick off in Aiguebelette on 30 August.
