Three NSWIS cyclists have won medals at the second leg of the 2015/16 UCI Track Cycling World Cup in New Zealand.

The highlight came for reigning world champion and world record holder Ashlee Ankudinoff, who added to her world championship gold with World Cup success in the women’s team pursuit.

Ankudinoff teamed with fellow world champion Amy Cure as well as Isabella King and Georgia Baker to defeat Canada, fighting back after finding themselves behind at the halfway mark to claim gold.

The gold medal was complemented by a silver from Kaarle McCulloch in the women’s team sprint as she teamed with Stephanie Morton to finish a mere .518 seconds behind winners China.

Sprinter Peter Lewis then rounded out the medal haul with bronze in the men’s team sprint alongside Matthew Glaetzer and Nathan Hart after defeating Great Britain in the bronze medal ride off.
