Three NSWIS paddlers have put themselves in strong positions to compete at Rio 2016 following canoe slalom’s Australian Open over the weekend.

Lucien Delfour, Jessica Fox and Ian Borrows all finished as the top Australians in their respective events, with Delfour finishing sixth in the men’s K1 and Fox and Borrows finishing 13th and 12th in the women’s and men’s K1 events respectively.

All three athletes will now look to secure a spot on the Australian Olympic Team with another strong showing at the final selection event, the Oceania Championships, from 19-21 February 2016.
