NSWIS athletes Bronwen Knox, Hannah Buckling, Holly Lincoln-Smith, Isobel Bishop, Keesja Gofers, Lea Yanitsas and Nicola Zagame will all feature for the Australians.

The Aussies were in a rampant mood in their Games opener, thumping Russia 14-4.

Another win over Italy will be a giant step towards securing a step in the next round of the competition.

London Olympics silver medallist Jessica Fox returns to the whitewater for the semi-finals of the K1 canoe slalom.

Fox goes into the semis as the second-fastest qualifier after impressing in her second run during the qualifiers.

After featuring in Australia’s 4 x 100m freestyle team, Matt Abood swims his first ever individual event at an Olympic Games when he competes in the heats of the 50m freestyle.

He will be looking to qualify in the splash and dash for the evening semi-finals.

And just two days after being caught up in a nasty track crash, NSWIS world champion cyclist Ashlee Ankundinoff competes in qualifying for the team pursuit.
