A further seven NSWIS athletes have been nominated to the Australian athletics team competing at the 2012 Olympic Games, meaning 11 NSWIS track & field athletes will compete in London.

Ryan Gregson was rewarded for his recent efforts in running an ‘A’ qualifying time by being nominated in the men’s 1500m, while Eloise Wellings earned a nomination in the gruelling women’s 10000m.

The men’s 4x100m and 4x400m relay teams saw five NSWIS athletes nominated. Anthony Alozie and Isaac Ntiamoah will fly the NSWIS flag as part of the 4x100m relay team, while Steven Solomon, Joel Milburn and John Steffensen were included in the men’s 4x400m relay team.

Fellow NSWIS athletes Youcef Abdi (men’s 3000m steeplechase), Dani Samuels (women’s discus), Ben St Lawrence (men’s 10000m) and Jeff Hunt (men’s marathon) had previously been nominated.

The team is expected to be ratified on June 18.
