Four NSWIS paddlers have met the criteria for nomination to the Australian Olympic team following the 2012 Australian Canoe Sprint Championships in Penrith over the weekend.

Highlighting the selections was Murray Stewart, who won national titles in the men’s K1 200m, K1 1000m, K2 1000m and K4 1000m. Stewart will be nominated for Olympic selection in all four classes provided Australia has filled the allocated quota spots for the Games.

Stewart is set for nomination alongside fellow NSWIS athletes Naomi Flood, Jo Brigden-Jones and Sebastian Marczak after the trio met nomination criteria. Flood is looking forward to nomination in the women’s K2 500m; Brigden-Jones in the women’s K4 500m and Marzcak in the men’s C1 200m, with all a shot at medals in London.
