The 2015 Australian Open canoe slalom championships wrapped up on Sunday, with a number of NSWIS paddlers winning medals and securing national team representation.

The highlight of the weekend came from reigning world champion Jessica Fox, who triumphed in the women’s K1 and finished second in the women’s C1.

Fox finished nearly five seconds ahead of fellow NSWIS athlete Alison Borrows in the K1, with both athletes being named on the Australian team for the event.

There was added success for NSWIS athlete Rosalyn Lawrence, who triumphed in the women’s C1 by just over four seconds from Fox, with Borrows taking bronze and Noemie Fox placing fourth.

The men’s results were headlined by Lucien Delfour, who secured national team selection with a stirring win in the men’s K1, taking his first national title by just 1.89 seconds.

The conclusion of the championships saw the following NSWIS athletes selected to the Australian team; Fox, Borrows, Lawrence, Delfour and Ethan Hodson.
