A total of seven NSWIS swimmers have been nominated to the Australian Paralympic Team following the 2016 Australian Swimming Championships.

Headlining the nominations is NSWIS athlete Ellie Cole, who set a new world record in the women’s S9 50m freestyle en route to gold at the national championships.


Not to be outdone, fellow NSWIS athlete and Paralympic nominee Tiffany Thomas Kane set a new world record in the women’s S6 50m breaststroke at the championships to be nominated to her first Paralympic team.


Joining Cole and Thomas Kane as nominees are Maddison Elliott, Timothy Hodge, Matthew Levy, Sean Russo and Prue Watt.


The Paralympic Games begin on 7 September.
