Olympian and NSWIS athlete Jarrod Poort took the gold medal as the first Australian home in the men’s 10km at the 2017 Australian Open Water Swimming Championships at Brighton Beach last week.

Poort finished in a time of 1:57:48, which also secured him a spot for the upcoming final World Championships selection in Abu Dhabi.

Poort captured the hearts of the Australian public with his courageous swim in the men’s 10km at the Rio Olympics and is looking for further success in 2017.
