NSWIS swimmer Jarrod Poort will compete at the 2012 Olympic Games after a late call up to the Australian Olympic team.

Poort won the men’s 1500m freestyle at the 2012 Australian Swimming Championships earlier this year, but finished outside the qualifying time that would have seen him secure an automatic berth in London.

After a three month wait Poort received news from FINA that his ‘B’ qualifying time would be enough to get him to London, where he will make his Olympic debut and continue Australia’s representation in the men’s 1500m freestyle.
