Rio Paralympic gold medallists Maddie Elliott and Tiffany Thomas-Kane are among a 19 strong NSWIS team heading to the Hancock Prospecting Australian Swimming Championships in Brisbane this week.

Elliott, who won three gold medals in the pool in Rio and was also awarded the coveted NSWIS Female Athlete of the Year in 2016, will be competing in six events – including the multi-class 50m and 100m freestyle, in which she was victorious in Rio.

Joining Elliott in the NSWIS team is fellow Rio gold medallist Thomas-Kane, who will also be competing in six events including the multi-class 100m breaststroke in which she took gold at the Paralympics.

Elsewhere on the team Olympian Jacob Hansford will be hoping to secure a spot on the Australian team for the FINA World Championships in Hungary later in the year in a very competitive 200m freestyle field.

Up and coming breaststroker Matthew Wilson will be looking to build on his fine form this season and also secure a spot on the team – hopefully as a national champion.

The full list of NSWIS athletes competing can be found below. You can keep up to date with results via the NSWIS website and social channels.
