NSWIS rowers Genevieve Horton and Jessie Allen have cemented their place as the world’s best after a stunning win at the 2013 World Rowing Junior Championships in Lithuania.

Competing in the junior women’s pair, Horton and Allen cruised through the opening rounds of the event before taking their place in the final, almost immediately grabbing the lead ahead of Romania, with Germany also faring well in the opening stages.

However after a fourth place finish at the recent under-23 world championships, Horton and Allen continued their strong form throughout the race to hold an unassailable lead, crossing the finish line ahead of the Romanians, with Spain taking bronze.
