Fourteen NSWIS rowers have been selected on the Australian rowing team over the weekend following the national selection trials in Penrith.

The selections have been highlighted by five NSWIS athletes in the men’s coxed eight crew, with Matthew Ryan, Nicholas Purnell, Francis Hegerty, Sam Loch and cox Toby Lister making up the majority of the crew.

Tess Gerrand and Amy Clay have been named in the women’s coxed eight crew, while John Maclean and Kathryn Ross will fight it out together in the mixed trunk and arms double scull.

Also on the team are Dan Noonan (men’s quad scull), Brooke Pratley (women’s double scull), Rod Chisholm (men’s lightweight double scull), Fergus Pragnell (men’s coxless pair) and James Chapman (men’s coxless four).

The team will compete at the final two world cup events in Switzerland and Germany in late May to add to the 10 boats already qualified for the 2012 London Games
