Two NSWIS athletes have won a silver medal at the third rowing world cup event of the season in Lucerne, Switzerland.

NSWIS athletes Alexander Lloyd and Spencer Turrin joined compatriots Will Lockwood and Joshua Dunkley-Smith to win silver in the men’s four.

The Australian quartet clocked a time of 6:51.62, just 0.07 seconds ahead of bronze medallists Italy, to secure silver in a photo finish.

The silver in Switzerland complemented gold and silver at the Sydney world cup, and silver at the Eton Dorney world cup to ensure the overall world cup title in the men’s four, the first time an Australian crew had achieved the result in the men’s four.
