Three NSWIS sailors have been selected on the Australian Paralympic team for the 2012 London Paralympic Games.

Headlining the selections is Liesl Tesch, who will be competing at her sixth Paralympic Games. However, London will provide a change of pace for sailor Tesch after five Paralympic campaigns representing the Australian women’s wheelchair basketball team. She will compete with compatriot Daniel Fitzgibbon in the SKUD 18 class.

“I want that gold medal. I want to complete the set, I’ve got two silvers and a bronze and now it’s time for the gold,” Tesch said.

“It’s such a big challenge for me to be going to a Games with a different sport. But with a different sport comes a different type of excitement, it’s fresher completely.”

Joining Tesch on the team are fellow NSWIS athletes Stephen Churm and Jonathan Harris. Churm and Harris will make their Paralympic Games debut in London and will compete in the three person sonar class with Colin Harrison.
