NSWIS athletes Dani Samuels, Nicholas Hough and Guy Henly claimed gold medals at the 2015 Brisbane Track Classic over the weekend.

Samuels continued her march towards selection for the world championships later in the year by notching another impressive discus win. After opening with a throw of 61.61m, Samuels went on to throw 64.14m in the second round to secure gold and another world championship ‘A’ qualifier.

Hough continued his rise with an impressive victory in the men’s hurdles, winning in an impressive 13.52 seconds. The time marked a new personal best and NSW record for Hough, while also moving him to second on the Australian all-time list behind Kyle Vander-Kuyp, who holds the record at 13.50.

In other events, Guy Henly staked his claim for a spot at the IPC world championships by winning the men’s ambulant discus. Henly won with a throw of 33.61m to clock a world championship qualifier and new personal best.
