Kurt Fearnley has continued his remarkable form in the OZ Day 10km race by taking out his seventh consecutive crown at the annual Australia Day event in Sydney.

Fearnley held off Switzerland’s Heinz Frei and South Africa’s Ernst Van Dyke to record a time of 21 minutes and four seconds, nine seconds faster than his victory in 2010.

The performance leaves Fearnley in peak condition to focus on the men’s marathon at the 2011 IPC Athletics World Championships in New Zealand, where he will defend his title from four years ago in the Netherlands.
