Melissa Perrine has claimed silver overnight at the World Para Alpine Skiing Championships.

Competing alongside new sighted guide Bobbi Kelly in the women’s visually impaired Giant Slalom, the NSWIS athlete took the silver medal in a time of 1:11.78 behind Slovakian Henrieta Farkasova.

Perrine was pleased with her podium performance.

“We had a game plan that we tried to execute, you always want to execute things a bit cleaner than you do, but overall I’m pretty happy with the day,” she said.

Perrine will look to continue her excellent form in the Ladies Slalom on Thursday 24 January.

In other competition Patrick Jensen (NSWIS) finished 9th in the men’s visually impaired Giant Slalom whilst Sam Tait (NSWIS) placed 10th in the seated event.
