Four NSWIS athletes have won silver medals as part of the Australian women’s under-21 netball team following the conclusion of the 2013 World Youth Netball Championships in Glasgow.

Kristina Brice, Paige Hadley, Kimberley Ravaillion and Gabrielle Simpson were all included in the team that blitzed their way through the competition before facing New Zealand in the final.

A typically tense affair saw Australia and their trans-Tasman rivals fight it out for every point as New Zealand eventually securing a 52-47 win over Australia, with Brice scoring 29 goals for the Australians.

In other netball news, the Australian Diamonds have draw England, South Africa, Trinidad and Tobago, Wales and Barbados in their pool for the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. 

The Diamonds will be looking for their first Commonwealth Games win since 2002 following a heartbreaking extra time loss against New Zealand in 2010.
