NSWIS skiers Melissa Perrine and Toby Kane have each won a medal at the Spanish leg of the 2012 IPC World Cup.

Day one of action saw Toby Kane take bronze in the men’s standing slalom. Kane clocked a time of 50.24 seconds in his first run to move up to sixth place, before powering his way into medal contention with a 51.73 second dash down the slopes. Kane’s second run was just outside of his Russian and French competitor’s times, but strong enough to take bronze.

Perrine was also in action on day one, narrowly missing out on a bronze in the women’s vision impaired slalom.

However, day two of action saw Perrine make up for the narrow defeat by winning silver in the women’s vision impaired giant slalom. Perrine left nothing to chance, skiing agressively down the slope to clock 2:28.13 to finish with silver.

Day two also saw Kane action as he finished fifth in the men’s standing giant slalom.
