Sailor Tom Slingsby has continued his solid form by claiming a bronze medal in the men’s laser at the fourth round of the ISAF Sailing World Cup in France.

Slingsby had to restart his race believing he jumped the starter’s gun before suffering gear breakage, leading to a seventh place finish in the medal race and bronze overall. Slingsby won three races and recorded top 10 finishes in three other races at the regatta.

Slingsby now sits in second place on the world cup standings. He has medalled at the last seven world cup events, including four gold medals.

Malcolm Page, half of Australia’s men’s 470 duo, finished sixth in the men’s 470.
