NSWIS cyclist Amanda Spratt has earned her first call up to the Australian Olympic team following the announcement of the Australian cycling team.

Spratt will compete in the women’s road race in London following excellent domestic performances where she finished second at the 2012 Jayco Bay Cycling Classic and first at the 2012 Australian Road National Championships.

Three years ago Spratt suffered a potentially career ending back injury, but after returning to the bike in 2010 she won several events overseas before returning to Australia in 2012 to stake her claim for an Olympic spot.

The Olympic Games begin on July 27.
