The Australian Athletics Championships concluded over the weekend, with NSWIS athlete Brandon Starc highlighting the weekend’s results.

Starc took gold in the men’s high jump with a personal best leap of 2.28m, with his performance earning him a spot on the Australian team competing at the 2013 IAAF Athletics World Championships later this year.

He was joined on the top of the medal dais by fellow NSWIS athletes Fabrice Lapierre (gold, men’s long jump), James Nipperess (gold, men’s 3000m steeplechase), James Kaan (gold, men’s 1500m), Angela Ballard (gold, women’s wheelchair 200m) and Guy Henley (gold, men’s ambulant discus).

The championships also saw Nicholas Hough (men’s 200m),  Tim Leathart (men’s 100m), Ben St Lawrence (men’s 1500m) and Stephanie Schweitzer (women’s ambulant 200m).
