Five NSWIS athletes competed in the Sydney leg of the ITU Triathlon World Championship series over the weekend.

The most promising results in the event came from a quartet of rising NSWIS stars. Natalie Van Coevorden and Charlotte McShane finished 39th and 59th, respectively, in the women’s elite event, while Ryan Bailie and Aaron Royle finished 45th and 47th, respectively in the men’s elite event.

Beijing Olympian Brad Kahlefeldt was the most high profile casualty of the NSWIS quintet, failing to finish after pulling out during the cycling leg.
